Becoming an Instructor of Record

Tuesday, May 15, 2018 10:00am to 11:30am

Whether your first time teaching on your own will happen this summer or this fall, forming and finalizing plans for that first course can feel daunting - especially if you’re working on your own. Participants in this workshop, therefore, will work together with the facilitator to learn, select and personalize strategies for efficiently managing this process. Topics to be addressed include: adapting a syllabus, designing engaging class sessions, and selecting and sequencing appropriate assignments - all with a broad range of UMN students in mind.

A week prior to the workshop, participants will complete an online activity that will prepare them, and workshop facilitators, for a quick start to the session. Expect the activity to take about an hour.

Facilitated by Kris Gorman.
