Pedagogical Innovations Journal Club
University Office Plaza 444
The March Pedagogical Innovations Journal Club will read “Collaborative Learning in Higher Education: Evoking Positive Interdependence” published in 2016 in CBE Life Sciences Education. The authors wanted to identify the factors in collaborative learning activities that lead to success. Conducting focus groups of students who took part in successful collaborative learning from multiple classes the authors identified several factors that students believed led to the success of their experience. These factors fell into two main categories; factors related to student autonomy and factors related to group process. We will discuss all of these factors and how they might apply to your teaching.
