Article: The effects of collaborative testing on higher order thinking: Do the bright get brighter?
The December Pedagogical Innovations Journal Club article is “The effects of collaborative testing on higher order thinking: Do the bright get brighter?” published in 2017 in Active Learning in Higher Education. The authors looked at student performance on collaborative exams compared to individual exams and found that students taking collaborative exams performed better overall, and also performed better on higher order thinking questions. Survey results indicated that most students enjoyed the collaborative exams. We will discuss the implications of this article for your teaching.
