Video Series

In addition to providing recordings of live hour-long webinars, CEI offers short, practical self-paced recordings bundled as “Video Series”. Each is designed for asynchronous viewing and available for enrollment through Training Hub. After enrolling, you will receive an email with a link to the recording and accompanying resources. Please contact the Center for Educational Innovation (cei@umn.edu) to discuss access needs or to request accommodations.

When you are finished reviewing the resources, you may elect to mark completion for the course on Training Hub. Your “My Training page” in Training Hub lists opportunities you are enrolled in and those you have completed.

If you do not have a University of Minnesota email account, you may request a guest account for access.

Small Teaching Changes in Times of Burnout

In this six-part, self-paced series, we start by acknowledging the ongoing, challenging realities you and your students face. We provide concrete, achievable strategies for small, high-impact teaching strategies to implement, given these realities. We suggest that you choose to implement one or two, focusing on the areas of your teaching that are the highest priority for you and your students. Each video is under 7 minutes.

Active Lecturing

In this series of four videos, we provide an overview of interactive lecturing followed by practical strategies for asking questions, using audience response systems, peer instruction, and note-taking handouts. Each video is under 7 minutes.

Getting Feedback You Can Use

In this three-part video series, we’ll explore a variety of ways to get useful, timely feedback that can help improve instruction and students’ learning. Topics include why to ask for feedback, various techniques for gathering feedback, and how to respond to and take action on feedback. Each video is under 8 minutes.
