Online Learning Consortium

With the University of Minnesota institutional membership, provided by the Center for Educational Innovation, all faculty and staff are considered members of the Online Learning Consortium. Note: to access member resources, you must first set up a new user account or affiliate an existing account by following the steps at the bottom of this page.

Through an OLC membership, you can get access to:

  • Online Workshops: Over 100 workshops are offered annually. Each workshop is developed by practitioners for practitioners, enabling thousands of colleagues worldwide to collaborate cost effectively with peers and experts, via real-time and asynchronous meetings. Additional workshops are added throughout the year, so please check the schedule often. The member price for a workshop is $169. Non-member pricing is $269.

  • Self-Paced Workshops: The OLC Institute for Professional Development now offers self-paced workshops. These on-demand learning opportunities allow you to complete a workshop at a time and pace that is convenient for you. Similar to our instructor-led offerings, you have access to the workshop for 365 days starting from the day you enroll, and our self-paced workshops also count towards fulfilling electives in the Online Teaching Certificate Program.

  • Webinars: Webinars are scheduled each month on key policy and research issues, as well as topics including quality, accessibility, OER resources, leadership online, assessment, online tools, and more. Webinars are free to all members and $99 for non-members.

  • The Quality Scorecard for Administration of Online Programs: The Scorecard is a free, easy-to-use tool for online administrators to evaluate programs using quality indicators including institutional support, technology support, course development and instructional design, student support, social and student engagement, and evaluation and assessment.

  • Website Resources: Members have full access to website resources including the Quality Scorecard for the administration of online education programs, articles from Online Learning journal, surveys, practitioner documents, Listserv, and more.

  • Publication Discounts: Members receive a 10% discount on all publications.

  • Conference Discounts: Don’t forget to take advantage of the $50 discounts off of the registration fee for the three annual conferences. Once you are logged into the system, you will automatically see the code in a gray box on the left hand side of the conference registration page. The code will need to be entered on the payment page during the registration process. Please note that each conference has a different code. If you have any questions about discount codes, email conference@onlinelearning-c.org.

  • Monthly Newsletters: The Online Learning Consortium sends out two monthly newsletters and additional special event e-mails. You can sign up online for the email list.
