Online Program Feasibility Assessment

The feasibility assessment is a disciplined process that provides information to U of M decision makers to help them make informed choices about where to invest resources. Developing and launching new online programs require up-front investment in curriculum design, course development, and marketing, among other things. Additionally, new degree programs require a multi-year commitment to ensure that students who start the program can finish it. Therefore, it is important to be disciplined and well-informed when entering new program areas to ensure there will be ongoing demand, internal support, and financial viability.
