Clare Forstie

Clare is an Education Program Specialist who provides programming and consulting with a particular interest in inclusive teaching principles and practices. She supports graduate students, faculty, and instructors in liberal arts disciplines and across the University of Minnesota Morris and Rochester campuses. Clare teaches in the Preparing Future Faculty (PFF) program, co-facilitates the Pedagogical Innovations Journal Club, and consults and offers programming on a variety of evidence-based pedagogies. In addition to her programming and consulting work, Clare is particularly interested in the role of technology in enabling equitable student learning, supporting student and instructor mental health, and critical approaches to evidence-based pedagogy.

Clare holds a PhD in sociology from Northwestern University and an MA in American and New England Studies from the University of Southern Maine. She has taught courses in sociology and gender and sexuality studies at 4-year institutions in the Wisconsin and New York state university systems and was most recently a faculty member in sociology at Farmingdale State College.
