Individual and Classroom Consultations
Teaching consultants are available to individual faculty members, instructional staff, and TAs who wish to discuss teaching concerns and effectiveness as they relate to a particular class. Language consultants can also provide assistance in spoken English (U.S.) and resources on cross-cultural considerations in teaching. Individual and classroom consultations are private, non-evaluative, and free of charge.
Student Feedback through Consensus
CEI teaching consultants can work with faculty members, instructional staff and TAs to collect clear, actionable/constructive and confidential feedback from students on classroom instruction or curriculum. A CEI consultant will visit your class and facilitate a discussion with students to gather the feedback you want and need. After reviewing the feedback to discern and prioritize themes, the consultant works with you to identify changes to further support student learning. While SFCs require between 15-25 minutes of class time, nearly everyone (instructors and students) believes that the value of the feedback gathered far exceeds the cost of sacrificed class time.
