Part 1: Assessing Environmental Factors

The Environmental Factors Working Guide  provides a template for assessing community, institutional, disciplinary, teacher and student contexts that can impact course design and delivery, situate learning climate and commitments, and reveal implicit and explicit expectations for learning outcomes.  Specifically, these environmental factors include:

  • the general and specific learning context
  • the nature of the subject
  • learner demographics
  • the teacher’s own philosophies and preferences.
