Teaching in an Active Learning Classroom Program

Instructors who are new to teaching in an Active Learning Classroom (ALC) often have questions about how to plan for, sequence, and support student learning in the space. In this cohort program, you will join fellow instructors in a year-long experience in which you will explore instructional approaches and course design strategies to make the most of these classrooms. You will learn discipline-appropriate practices for teaching in an ALC from Center for Educational Innovation staff and UMN colleagues who have successfully taught in these spaces.

As part of this program, you will:

  • attend six meetings throughout the year,
  • observe experienced faculty teaching in an ALC,
  • reflect on your own teaching, and
  • design or modify curriculum to increase learning in these unique classrooms.

This program is not currently open for registration. Indicate your interest in future participation and we'll notify you when it is offered next.
