Jessie (she/her) is an Education Professional who partners with instructors through consultations, workshops, and programming to cultivate inclusive, equitable, and evidence-based learning environments. In her role, she co-leads the Twin Cities Student Experience Project (SEP), facilitating workshops and communities of practice focused on student-centered course policies, growth mindset, and sense of belonging. She also co-facilitates the Gateways to Learning (G2L) program, which partners with faculty in STEM courses to improve student learning and achievement, and the University-wide Alternative Grading Community of Practice (AGCoP), supporting instructors as they explore and implement grading practices that foster student growth.
Jessie also contributes to the Preparing Future Faculty (PFF) program by teaching an in-person cohort of GRAD 8101: Teaching in Higher Education and co-leading PFF X8000: Teaching for Learning Summer Institute, an asynchronous institute for advanced graduate students and postdocs. Additionally, she facilitates small groups for the Early Career Teaching and Learning Program. Across these roles, Jessie meets participants where they are to advance their teaching skills for student success.
Her areas of expertise include curriculum design and revision, effective assessment, reflective dialogue, welcoming learning environments, and critical and antiracist pedagogies.
